Pete Muñoz, PE, LEED AP
- Co-Founder / President / Board of Directors
Pete is a seasoned ecological engineer. He directs all engineering and design projects and has a major role in SEEDS' day-to-day activities. Pete is a licensed Profession Engineer (#53722) in Michigan and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional. He is also a Michigan certifed Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (#5341). Pete has worked with a variety of engineering and design firms on environmental investigation, bioremediation, and wastewater treatment projects. He received a B.S. in Biosystems Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Studies from Michigan State University and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Vermont. Much of Pete's current work involves constructed wetlands, water reuse, and greywater treatment systems. His other interests include natural building and design, traveling, and maple sugaring.

Timothy Risk
- Co-Founder / Vice President / Board of Directors
Tim is an experienced carpenter, architect and artist. He received a B.A.
in Interior Design from Michigan State University and a M.S. in Architecture
from University of Michigan. He has been recognized
for his work at U of M through various awards and was the Operations Manager
for U of M's Solar house entry for the EPAs 2005 Solar Decathlon. Among
other things, Tim enjoys building and restoring wood/canvas canoes and
antique boats.

Harold Leverenz
- Cofounder / Board of Directors
Harold is in Davis, CA working on a doctorate in Environmental Engineering at
the University of California, with emphasis in water reuse & appropriate
technology. He received a B.S. in Biosystems Engineering from Michigan
State University and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University
of California-Davis. His research projects have included composting animal
wastes and onsite wastewater treatment. Harold's other areas of interest
include greywater systems, water reuse projects, and composting toilets.

Heather Korth
- Board of Directors
Heather is currently pursuing a Masters in Architecture at the University of Colorado
at Denver. She previously worked as an environmental engineer for The
Yeoman Group, a small environmental company, in Lansing, Michigan and
was a Peace Corp Volunteer in Gabon, Africa. She has a B.S. in Biosystems
Engineering from Michigan State University. Heather likes to camp and
bike and loves living in the foothills with her husband and 2 pugs!

Johanna (Joey) Miller
- Board of Directors
Johanna is the Outreach Director for the Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC).
Johanna spent five years as an organizer for one of the nation's largest
state-based environmental policy organizations — the Michigan Land Use
Institute. At MLUI she advanced Smart Growth strategies as a solution
to sprawl. An activist and advocate for more than a decade, Johanna served
on the board of directors for the Friends of the Crystal River and the
Northern Michigan Environmental Action Council. Johanna was educated at
Northern Michigan University and the University of Vermont, where she
received a BA in English and Environmental Studies. She lives in Montpelier
and enjoys skiing, kayaking, running, and hiking.
