Class description: Food scraps are a major source of carbon emissions in the US. Before they hit the compost they can be turned into more edible treats. Join SEEDS staff and partners to learn about multiple methods to save food scraps to incorporate into delicious dishes, as well as how to preserve the abundance of harvests for yourself and your community. Stretch your food budget while reducing carbon emissions. We will cover basic techniques from fermentation to canning and curing to drying. Held rain or shine!
Meeting location: Historic Barns Park “Workshop 223” – From Silver Drive entrance, make a Left at the first stop sign, first building on the left. Look for the SEEDS flags!
*This course qualifies toward the Naturalist Certificate.
