Come get social with fellow soil lovers! In celebration of the Great Michigan Compost Tours, the Alliance for Organic Waste Diversion wants to take the opportunity to gather food rescuers, educators, compost operators, gardeners, farmers, local government representatives, and other curious folks to build our network, share ideas and learn from your fellow soil lovers at this casual gathering. Our hosts at The Workshop Brewing Company will share their strategies to reduce waste going to landfills.

This event is part of the Michigan Organics Council’s Great Michigan Compost Tour. Food rescuers, animal feed operators, and composters across the state are hosting tours to highlight how surplus food, yard waste, and food scraps are rescued to feed hungry people or transformed into valuable animal feed or soil amendments. The other tours in our Northern Michigan region are featured in this event series.
