Details
This project’s purpose was to engage a youth crew to perform restoration and maintenance of backcountry trails with the crosscut saw and other non motorized tools. The crews maintained other visitor and common areas throughout North Manitou Island to ensure the preservation for future visitors. With help from the National Park Service Rangers, the crews also gain the skills necessary for backcountry camping and hiking as well as tool maintenance in the backcountry.
