Manistee River Trail, Manistee County
North Country Trail Association
A team of six spent the entire week on the Manistee National River Trail. They cleared the 8.5 miles of trail of trash, downed trees, illegal campsites and fire, as well as cleaning all the designated camping spots along the trail. A notable sighting for the week was finding a painted turtle breeding area where the female turtles were laying their eggs. We also spotted a blue tailed skink in the grass next to the trail!
